Easy Steak Dinner for Two Recipe
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: Approximately 25 minutes
Total Time: Approximately 35 minutes
Servings: 2
Step 1: Make the Garlic Mashed Potatoes
Start by washing and cutting your Yukon Gold potatoes into evenly sized chunks.
Place them in a pot of salted water and bring to a boil. Cook for approximately 15–18 minutes, or until fork-tender.
While the potatoes cook, melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Add the minced garlic and cook gently for about 1 minute until fragrant, without browning. Stir in the milk or half-and-half to warm.
Drain the potatoes and mash until smooth, adding your warm garlic butter mixture a little at a time.
Season with salt and pepper to taste, then cover to keep warm.
Step 2: Roast the Asparagus
Preheat your oven to 425°F.
Trim the woody ends from the asparagus and arrange the spears on a baking sheet.
Drizzle with 1 tablespoon olive oil, season with salt and pepper, and toss to coat.
Roast for approximately 10–12 minutes, depending on thickness, until tender with lightly browned tips.
Simple, fresh, and delicious.
Step 3: Cook the Perfect Steak
Pat your steaks dry with paper towels and season both sides generously with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
Heat a cast-iron skillet or heavy-bottomed pan over medium-high heat. Add 1 tablespoon olive oil.
Once the pan is hot, carefully add your steaks.
Sear for approximately 4–6 minutes per side, adjusting for steak thickness and checking doneness with a meat thermometer.
For food safety, the USDA recommends cooking whole cuts of beef to an internal temperature of 145°F, followed by a 3-minute rest.
For an extra-rich finish, add the remaining tablespoon of butter to the skillet during the last minute of cooking and spoon the melted butter over the steaks.
Transfer the steaks to a plate or cutting board and allow them to rest.
Step 4: Warm Your Creamy Peppercorn Sauce
Now for our favorite part!
While the steaks are resting, empty your Le Sauce & Co. Creamy Peppercorn Gourmet Sauce into a small saucepan.
Warm over low to medium heat for approximately 2–3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Or empty the sauce into a microwave-safe bowl, cover, microwave for 30 seconds, and stir.
That's all it takes.
Made with real cream, butter, shallots, garlic, and green peppercorns, our ready-to-heat gourmet sauce brings a rich, classic French steakhouse flavor to your dinner.
No reducing cream. No extra ingredients. No complicated sauce preparation.
Just heat, pour, and enjoy!
Step 5: Plate Your Steakhouse Dinner
Now it's time to make your dinner look as beautiful as it tastes.
Spoon a generous serving of garlic mashed potatoes onto each plate.
Place your beautifully seared steak beside the potatoes and arrange a few roasted asparagus spears alongside it.
Finally, drizzle warm Creamy Peppercorn Sauce over the steak, allowing a little to run onto the potatoes.
Finish with freshly chopped parsley and a little cracked black pepper if desired.
Dinner is served!
