Thanksgiving Turkey Friendsgiving Dinner

Sliced Turkey with Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans

When Thanksgiving rolls around, some traditions never change—and for good reason. At the heart of this beloved holiday is a plate full of comfort: sliced turkey, creamy mashed potatoes, and tender green beans. It’s a meal that’s simple in spirit but rich in nostalgia, connection, and flavor. Every year, families gather around the table to share stories, give thanks, and enjoy this timeless trio. It’s not just about food—it’s about memories in the making.

Let’s start with the star: the turkey. Whether it’s roasted low and slow or prepared in a new, modern way, the sliced turkey is the centerpiece of the meal. The aroma of herbs, garlic, and buttery skin filling the house is one of the first signals that the holiday season has truly begun. When it’s cooked to perfection—moist, tender, and sliced into thick, juicy pieces—there’s nothing quite like it. Pair it with a flavorful gravy like Le Sauce & Co.'s Thanksgiving Turkey Gourmet Gravy, and you’ve got a bite that melts in your mouth and reminds you why turkey is always worth the wait.

Then come the mashed potatoes. Creamy, buttery, and whipped to just the right consistency, mashed potatoes are the quiet comfort of the Thanksgiving plate. They soak up gravy like a dream and offer the perfect contrast to the savory turkey. Some families love theirs with a bit of garlic or a dollop of sour cream, others keep it classic—but either way, it’s a dish that feels like a warm hug.

And don’t forget the green beans—the balancing act to all the richness on the table. Whether you serve them simply steamed with a bit of butter and salt, or go the extra mile with toasted almonds or a casserole version, green beans add color, freshness, and a crisp bite. On a plate that’s often dominated by carbs and meats, they bring a much-needed lightness to the mix.

Together, these three dishes form the core of the Thanksgiving experience. They’re the flavors we look forward to all year long, the ones that taste just as good the next day, and the ones we build new traditions around. They also reflect what Thanksgiving is truly about: bringing people together around good, honest food.

And while preparing a full Thanksgiving spread can feel overwhelming, focusing on these essentials is a great way to keep things simple, delicious, and stress-free. You don’t need a dozen side dishes or hours of prep to make a meal that feels special. With high-quality ingredients—like tender turkey and a gourmet gravy made with real, wholesome flavor—you can create a dinner that everyone will remember.

So this Thanksgiving, when the table is set and the laughter is flowing, take a moment to appreciate the beauty of the basics. Sliced turkey, mashed potatoes, and green beans may be traditional, but they’re far from ordinary. They’re the reason we come back to the table, year after year

  • 200g (7 oz) sliced turkey (cooked or deli)
  • 1 pouch Le Sauce & Co. Thanksgiving Turkey Gourmet Gravy

  3. Heat the Turkey and Gravy:
    • In a small saucepan, gently heat the sliced turkey over low heat until warmed through.
    • In another saucepan, heat the Le Sauce Thanksgiving Turkey Gourmet Gravy until warm, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Serve:
    • On each plate, serve a portion of mashed potatoes topped with the warm turkey slices.
    • Add a side of sautéed green beans and sprinkle with pomegranate seeds for a pop of color and flavor.
